For fun, I'm standing up a brand new ship community on Dreamwidth for a favorite rarepair (Megatron/Ratchet). As per the adage: create the type of content you want to see.

With more people coming to Dreamwidth, it's a good opportunity to start community-building and creating more active fandom spaces here.

There aren't really a lot that are currently active, but I'd like to change that, at least a little bit. You know, be the change you want to see, sort of thing. The downside is that I don't know if there's an audience for it.

Going through "interests" and the various communities that I can find, either active or historical, there're basically no communities focused on specific ships.

This is a pretty common Tumblr phenomenon, either as just general collection blogs and/or ship event (weeks, exchanges) hubs. These make excellent use of the reblogging capabilities of the platform. Dreamwidth seems to work better for the latter or to facilitate topic discussion, rather than work collection necessarily.

I've seen one MegOP community on Dreamwidth that is listed as never updated (as a result, I'm not linking it) and it's the sole example of the type I could locate. There is also a rarepair community (tf_rare_pairing) that is somewhat similar.

Needs more research before attempting anything but I really want to be more active on DW and help the fandom here thrive.
